I lost over a million and cant get over it. Im looking for some advice, I had a great run in 2025, I was up 1300% at some point, I slowly grinded £60K to £1M in 9 months, then I made some really stupid things, which led to more desperate moves (all in options), and i lost it all between October and December.

This year has not been kind to me, im currently down 25%, I actually had an insane start to the year, I think i was up almost 200% ytd in February, but then the Iran war started, I never got back in during April and May, so my account never recovered, by the time I got back I was June and well.. we all know how the last 3months have been.

Now the good news is I still have £100K left but psychologically I cant get over, I keep getting adverts about UK gilts at 5%, £50K a year is more then the average wage of the UK, I am in my 30s, I could've literally just retired but I threw it away like a retard

How do I get over this? I thought i did it once ill make it back again but this market has slapped me in the face more times then I can count

Has anyone else been through this? How did you get over it?

Edit: to the people calling me a gambler. Thats the part that sucks the most. I know I will never be able to do it again, the same way, I dont want to give away what I did because it was pure gambling full porting shitcos from May 2025 until September 2025, id just full port shitcos ,double my man then do.it again, basically did it like 3 times, I made over half a million just from $NBIS alone.

But here is the tragic part, I will never do that shit again, I am so scared of losing money I literally take profits after being up a few %, i never let it ride like that. So assuming I dont lose everything, its probably going to take me 5 years to replicate that, and not to mention, this market has sucked ass outside of April and May since October

I love to cook. So I will often cook myself a nice meal to enjoy after work. I work in food service, so cooking is a pretty big part of my life. My landlords don’t cook at all. They mostly eat frozen food, pre packaged noodles, tv dinners etc. When they gave me the tour, they made sure to emphasize several times that their food is off limits and I’m not to touch any of it. AITA for not rehiring a babysitter because she showered at our house? We had a babysitter come and mind our 2 year old daughter from about 19:00-1:00. She was only with our daughter for about an hour before she went to bed. Then afterwards she’s free to watch television or scroll her phone or whatever else.

We’ve used her a few times in the past and she’s been amazing. However this time when we returned home we noticed the washroom floor was wet and so was her hair, she mentioned she took a shower. We thanked her and paid her.

After she left I told my wife I felt uncomfortable with that. As it wasn’t an overnight babysit and felt unnecessary. I also noticed that our balcony smelt a bit like cigarette smoke. My wife is saying I am being to rash and it may just be from another unit close by.

I was left with a very uneasy feeling that she may have smoked on the balcony and showered to cover the smell. Additionally our daughter still awakes frightened at times and I feel very uncomfortable thinking she may have woken and the sitter was preoccupied.

I said I do not want to have her back but my wife argued that I’m being ridiculous and she is otherwise a good babysitter.

So would I be the asshole for not asking her to babysit again because of this?

This seems relevant so I thought I’d add more context.

The sitter is in her mid twenties she was recommended to us by a friend who is her advisor for her master degree

We’ve had her over probably 4-5 times in the past. Maybe once a month? Not a scheduled thing.

The washroom we noticed that was used was the farthest one from the bedrooms

My child is 2. For those of you without children it is not normal for 2 year olds to ‘spit up’ or vomit. If my child had vomited on her it would mean she was sick and I would have expected her to call us and let us know.

My bank has refused my mortgage renewal Hi All. I made a terrible mistake during Covid which I regret every single day of my life. Not a day goes by when I don’t get haunted by my choices.

With no housing experience, I bought a property for around $850k which was a 60 year old semi detached house. In order to come up with the 20% down payment, I borrowed $90k from a 2nd mortgage through a broker who charged 13% interest annually. I did manage to pay off this mortgage. In order to get my main mortgage, the broker also made fraudulent work documents like T4 for my wife who is a housew...

I am left with $640k mortgage. My renewal is supposed to be in March 2027 and my bank has refused my renewal. There is talks that this broker has been found out and his whole clientele has been blacklisted. The house is in Durham and is currently worth anywhere between $580-650k.

My gross income is $95k. I don’t have any other debt. The bank has not directly given any reason so far for cancelling my mortgage renewal but they will be sending a letter.

I am in touch with my real estate to list it off asap and try to sell it off. But I really want advice what are my options? My savings are non-existent. If this house doesn’t sell for $650-660k, I will be in negative. Is bankruptcy the only option? What are the repercussions?

You can call me out as much as you want and I admit I made a terrible non-educated decision. I am looking for genuine advice please.
